Dear Executive Committee of the Daughters of the Theotokos, of St Joseph
Church
Item One:
For people who like to plan ahead: we are meeting 29
Sept to vote for new officers. This info will be diseminated by
email and bulletin this week.
FYI: Yazmin has offered to take the Secretary post, Margaret has
volunteered to continue as Treasurer. We are assuming Kh. Lynn will
kindly continue as communication liaison.
It might be a good
idea to be thinking in terms of nominations throughout the year,
depending on who is willing to do the work, and available to fill the
office.
Item Two:
News re the Prison ministry holiday cookie event from Jim Coody: Chaplain
at the Central prison unit in Sugarland says Cookie
Sunday is scheduled for Dec. 9, 2007. We
will be asking for DOT to be baking in November to prepare for this. More
info later on estimated goal, and whether or not the cookie dough will be
donated (again).
Item Three:
This week I am composing
the mission statement for the St Joseph Newsletter that Larry tells me he
will have ready by 9/23/07 ( a week before the meeting). Also, in the
article for the newsletter, I want to lay out some of what we do here at St
Joseph all year. e.g.

AUG - garden party
social for DOT
colleciton for
Romania begins - by St Tabitha Circle
and then there is coffee
hour sign up, pot lucks, and donations to Pregnancy Resource Center by St
Tabitha Circle, ongoing all year.
DOT could schedule meetings
for "every other month" or so, on the surmise that the other months there
will be "social" get togethers of one kind or another.
Item Four:
For those who ask for
spiritual care, there is a wonderful opportunity
in the St Philip prayer and study group,
although that is not specifically for women. Another consideration is to
expand monastery trips to include the skete in Washington TX, where the nuns
are...
Dear execs, your input
on any of this is of great value. Please respond with your thoughts,
complaints, impressions...etc.
thanks
Isabel
